The LeeStock team are delighted to announced the confirmation that 3x platinum selling indie group Toploader are set play at this year’s festival.
Originally from Eastbourne, Toploader formed in 1997, with over two million album sales to their name and a string of top 20 hits both home and abroad. Their debut album, Onka’s Big Moka, has sold over one million units and spent over six months in the Top 5 of the UK Albums Chart. Their cover of King Harvest’s song “Dancing in the Moonlight” became a global hit for the band. Their second album, Magic Hotel, reached number 3 in the UK Albums Chart.
We’re really excited to be playing LeeStock this year, it’s such a great charity that provides much needed respite for seriously ill young adults. It’s gonna be a top weekend, looking forward to it !”
The band started their career playing small venues around the country supporting bands such as Coldplay and Muse before touring with Paul Weller, Robbie Williams and Bon Jovi. Toploader are officially the last British band to have performed at the original Wembley stadium.
The band broke up due to the demise of their record label in 2003. After a long 8 year break a new album, ‘Only Human’ was released in 2011. The album received critical acclaim with singles, ‘Never Stop Wondering’ and ‘A Balance To All Things’ gaining plenty of airplay and exposure throughout the country. In 2013 the band continue to tour and promote their new single ‘Turn It Around’ and the release of a four track EP back in February.
Toploader are, Joseph Washbourn (vocals & keys), Dan Hipgrave (guitar), Matt Knight (bass) and Rob Green (drums).
