The day ‘kicked off’ perfectly with LeeFest United beating local Sunday league side, Long Melford Razors (divisional winners last season), on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw in The Lee Dunford Memorial Cup football matchcontesting the inaugural Lee Dunford Memorial Trophy.

There was everything a football match could ask for, goals, saves, gaffs and even a dubious penalty on the 90th minute! The winner’s proudly accepted the trophy from Lee’s parents, Rob and Rose Dunford.

The players and supporters then moved on to Glemsford Social Club and were treated to an afternoon and evening of live music with six local bands putting on a fantastic show. We were delighted by the performances and turn out.

The raffle was held in the early evening with great anticipation – who would win the limited edition Barbie doll?!?!

The whole day passed perfectly and £2385.50 was raised on the day for the Willow Foundation – which we were extremely proud of. Subsequent donation have risen this figure to £3,000.00!

Let’s ensure 2009 is bigger and better!!
