First of all, we all want to say a massive thank you to all of you who have helped and contributed to LeeStock over the past 4 years.
Whether you’ve attended events, sponsored events, donated prizes or donated your hard earned cash, thank you for all your contributions, ultimately enabling us to donate as much as possible to the Willow Foundation.
LeeStock 2011 raised nearly £9,500.00 which we are all amazed at. It’s our biggest ever single donation and we are especially pleased as this year’s focus was as much on raising awareness of the Willow Foundation as it was raising money for them. We hope you all had a great time, we certainly did, and we loved the atmosphere at our main event in May. A huge crowd for both headliners; Dodgy on the Saturday and Mark Morriss of The Bluetones on Sunday.
Since LeeStock’s birth in 2008 we have donated over £25,000.00 as it continues to grow from a one-day music event to a two-day music festival, with many other events such as the annual Lee Dunford Memorial Football Match, fun-runs, fancy dress pub crawls and individual fundraisers helping us to increase our donations to Willow each year.
We know we’ve been a bit quiet for a while so we’re giving you a update on whats been going on at LeeStock HQ.
In October we held our second LeeStock Race Night where we raised nearly £400.00 at the Cock and Bell in Long Melford. An £8.00 donation/entry fee also covered the sausage and chips dinner and there were some big winners and a great buzz, especially for the last race. Thank you to everyone who came a long and thank you to the Cock and Bell for hosting the event. The Race Night was also the launch for the much anticipated LeeStockers Calendar. Eleven lads and one surprise entry have all posed naked, with tactfully placed accessories sparing any blushes, for professional photographer Joe Fairs of North Street Studios to help create the 2012 calendar (with only a couple of drinks needed to calm the nerves).
The finished article looks fantastic, so if anyone is interested in buying some for themselves or for family or friends, please contact us on email@example.com, via Facebook or head to The White Horse in Sudbury to check them out. At £10.00 per calendar with all profits going to Willow, what better Christmas present could there be (or tool of torture for some of us involved!) Please contact us quickly if your interested as the first batch has already sold out! Our special thanks go to Joe Fairs and to Steve Lee-Aimes for their invaluable and generous help.
Planning normally starts around January time but after the success this year, the lads have already started preparation for 2012, with some acts already confirmed! Rest assured that some pleasant surprises are also coming to the boil nicely and we will be in touch in the coming weeks as things develop!
Thanks again for all your donations and your time support LeeStock and The Willow Foundation.
We hope to see you all at LeeStock 2012 – remember we sold out last year so tell your friends and get in early….you won’t want to miss this one!!
