We’re pleased to welcome Newport hip hop heroes Goldie Lookin’ Chain (GLC) to LeeStock, on Sunday 28th May.
Their 2004 release of “Guns Don’t Kill People, Rappers Do” reached number 3 in the UK charts, with their Greatest Hits album making the top 5 in the same year. GLC had released 6 albums before signing a major record deal. The album name is a satirical attempt to highlight the group’s previous lack of commercial success and their “stoner” image; it compiled a mixture of new material and selections from their previous six unofficial albums.
A follow up to ‘Greatest Hits’ was released in 2005 and reached 16 in the UK album charts, with the single “Your Missus Is a Nutter” reaching 14 in the UK singles charts. To date GLC have achieved 6 top 40 UK hits. Their latest material from the 2016 album “Pill Communication” can be found on their YouTube channel.
We’re looking forward to seeing them this May at Melford Hall.
