Formed in the Ladbroke Grove area of West London in 1974, Aswad is one of the most successful and influential reggae acts in British history. Their name, which means ‘Black’ in Arabic, has become synonymous with authentic, soulful, and captivating reggae music that transcends generations.
For over five decades, they have been crafting chart-topping hits, from deep roots reggae to slick, contemporary lovers’ rock. Led now by Sulaiman Gaye-Clarke (son of the dearly missed Drummie Zeb), Aswad continues its powerful legacy, bringing that perfect mix of bass-heavy rhythms and irresistible melodies to our stage.
