We are very excited to announce that ‘Space’ will be performing at LeeStock in 2013.
Space came to prominence in the mid-1990s with hit singles such as “Female of the Species“, “Neighbourhood” and “Avenging Angels“. They worked with both Tom Jones in 1999 and Cerys Matthews a year earlier on “The Ballad of Tom Jones“. The band formed in Liverpool in 1993 and released four studio albums before eventually disbanding in 2005.
Hi Leestockers….. can’t wait to play the festival I’ve heard a lot about it and the lads are buzzing at the thought of rocking Suffolk… we will bring the Fez to the festival” – Tommy Scott
The band re-formed in 2011 to play a special one off Christmas show to a sell out hometown crowd, at the 02 Academy in Liverpool. They could have easily sold out 3 consecutive dates. In 2013 they have continued to tour the country playing at small to medium sized venues. In May they will be in Suffolk for LeeStock Music Festival.
“It felt fantastic to play Liverpool again as Space. I started to play the ‘Space’ songs again last summer (2010) and started to get nostalgic about the band. I think a lot of it is down to timing, it just feels right at the moment to give it a go again and we’re all looking forward to what 2013 will bring” says Tommy Scott.
