Tom ‘Chippy’ Williams and Ash Buck will swim the channel (in a pool) on Monday April 5th (bank holiday Monday) starting at 6am.

The English Channel is the busiest in the world…so thats why the boys are doing it in a pool! They will be swimming the equivalent of 22miles (35.5km), but in a relay format, doing a mile each then swapping over (11 miles each).  This works out at 1,420 lengths of the pool between them.  (710 lengths each.)

SwimStock challenge

They hope to do this in under 10hrs.  It’s going to do this in one hit no mucking about, just 10hrs solid.

So find your bucks and ‘chip’ in for charity, a gigantic effort for a great cause. Donations can be made to Ash or Tom directly or via their justgiving page www.justgiving.com/leestockswim

08/04 – update, the lads finished in an excellent time of 8 hours 16 minutes and 32 seconds, raising over £1200 for a very worthy cause.  Congratulations and thanks to the pair from all at LeeStock and especially the Willow Foundation.

This is great guys – thank you so much for your support!

Chippy, you should already have my fiver!

  2. Tom Williams says:

Well we finished it in 8hrs 16mins! It was tough but after avoiding some ice bergs (annoying overweight women!) we made it!

I’d like to thank everybody who has and will sponsor us (wink wink nudge nudge to those yet too..) but especially thank all those that turned up to support us. It really did help and spur us on.

A special thanks to Kelly Murray and Carlene Sansum who volunteered to count our lengths for about 3hrs. Another thanks to The Kingfisher for allowing us to do it there and Olly Beeton who was able to persuade the big boss at the pool to allow us to do it.

So far me and Ashley have raised nearly £1300 and we will start contacting certain people and asking so nicely if we could now collect our sponsor money. If you wish to donate please go to http://www.justgiving.com/leestockswim or contact me or a Keogh.

    Thank you all once again.

    x
