Firstly, we hope that the past year hasn’t been too hard on you and your loved ones. It’s been tough for everyone but it looks like we’re on the path to normality.
Unfortunately we again have bad news about the festival. Following the recent guidance on the roadmap to recovery, this year’s festival would be unviable (if even possible) and so we are left with little option but to postpone LeeStock 2021 until June 2022.
We are sure that you will be as disappointed as we are, but we feel that the festival needs to come back in all of its glory, when we can be certain of the safety and enjoyment of our patrons, staff and volunteers and so have made the tough decision to postpone again.
The new dates for the festival will be FRIDAY 3rd June and Saturday 4th June – the move to a Friday is due to the Platinum Jubilee bank holidays next year, which take place on the Thursday and Friday. We are pleased to say that we are keeping ticket prices at the same price as the 2020 tickets, and tickets already purchased for this year’s festival will automatically be valid for the new dates. Those of you unable to attend on the new dates will be able to receive a refund. If you purchased your ticket online, our official ticket agent Skiddle will be in touch very soon. If you’re happy to attend the dates next year, you do not need to do anything and they will transfer your tickets to the new dates. If this is not the case, their email will state your options. Please allow a few days to receive this email, as Skiddle are dealing with an unprecedented number of queries. We urge customers to wait for further information from Skiddle by email, rather than contacting their Customer Care team.
We have already enjoyed very positive dialogue with many of the artists due to play this year and are delighted to confirm that some have immediately re-confirmed for the new festival dates. These already include Ash, Electric Six, Lucy Spraggan, Scouting For Girls, Toploader, Space, Stereo MCs and Tom Hingley – we are hugely grateful for the support of these artists in assisting us by committing to next year.
Whilst the further postponement of this year’s event will again have significant financial implications to the festival, we intend for 2022’s event to be better than ever, and to continue our fundraising for the Willow Foundation, with over £165,000 raised so far in Lee’s memory.
Finally, our thanks again go out to you; all of you who have supported LeeStock, and continue to do so. Without you, the festival literally would not be what it has become, and hundreds of seriously ill young adults would not have benefitted from the Special Days they have been provided by the Willow Foundation. We hope you can continue to support us by attending next year to help us to keep raising money for the Willow Foundation for years to come.
Hopefully we’re almost at the end of this, and we can give you a huge party in a field, with some fizzy pop, music and smiles to help you celebrate on the other side. Thank you for being our friends.
