Following substantial support from national press and radio, London-based folk-pop starlet Lisbee Stainton has recently toured with Joan Armatrading, Paul Carrack, Gretchen Peters and Seth Lakeman.
The latter was so impressed by Lisbee he invited her to become part of his own band for his 2012 UK tour, where she became a huge hit with Lakeman’s fanbase – so much so the pair have started writing songs together.
The Times declared Lisbee as “Bound for glory”, while MOJO magazine said of her breakthrough album ‘Girl On An Unmade Bed’, “Lisbee’s appeal is clear: slowly revolving rhythms, wistful English melancholy with a soul undertow, and a sweet folk-pop voice.”
Lisbee’s latest album ‘Go’, was described by The Daily Mirror as “An edifying experience”, with The Independent on Sunday saying, “Lisbee is a stoic solipsist existing chiefly on a diet of grave self-questioning and ultra-idiomatic melody. She’s talented.”
