British guitar bands are ten a penny and finding a good one, one you can really believe in and get your teeth into is a more difficult than you might imagine. Allow me to introduce IDEALS.
With a sea of imitators and sound-alike’s its refreshing to hear a band striding forward confidently in their own direction, pushing boundaries and creating the kind of melodramatic indie that has been a staple in British music history but seems to have been missing for so long.
IDEALS are a musical terror cell. The tide is turning. People want their music to have some artistry and intelligence once more. They are sick of it being served up like a bland TV dinner.
Coming across like a The Cure meets Interpol mash up of hooks and harmonies, IDEALS are one of the most exciting prospects for 2012 following a prolific two years of touring. Having formed in 2010 the band have gone from strength to strength – signing to Intruder Records, had four single releases along with an appearance on the legendary Fierce Panda Records six tracker EP, played a series of high profile support slots and gained a loyal fan base along the way.
This January sees the release of the debut EP ‘Let Your Anger Leave You’ already receiving critical acclaim and recognition from their peers and proves to be the start of a promising year for the new boys on the block.

Big, dark and melodramatic with a rich, polished production. Imagine the National fronted by The Editors Tom Smith and you’d be pretty close.”
