We’re pleased to announced a new addition to our 2017 festival.
Teaming up with The Suffolk Punch Comedy Club with support from Stag & Doe Contemporary Jewellers and Mauldons Black Adder Brewery, we’re able to bring an extra element to our festival. The Comedy Tent is in addition to the already established and popular family area and beer festival.
We can now confirm that all applications to perform at LeeStock 2017 are closed for consideration.
We’ve received over a thousand applicants and are truly amazed by the support and interest shown.
However, we can only book a small number of acts. If you have applied to play at this year’s festival we wish you the best of luck. If you’re unsuccessful on this occasion please try again later this year, when the application process re-opens for the 2018 festival.
SURGE are an infectious, garage-rock cocktail of tongue-in-cheek lyricism, angular riffs and catchy melodies – an addictive blend that’s been likened to early-Blur and constantly championed by BBC Introducing.
Hailing from Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, this enthralling, guitar-ladened, four-piece have quickly established themselves as a blistering live force and their energetic and often unpredictable live shows have been said to embody the same snarling edge of The Vaccines and the charming characteristics of The Libertines.
Since the group’s debut gig at The Soundhouse, Colchester in April 2015, SURGE have released three singles, (two self-produced) in ‘Tears of Joy’, ‘LOVEBLOOD’ and ‘Lemonade’ – one of which was released on a red 7” vinyl, after many fans of the band donated to what went on to be a successful Kickstarter campaign in support of the release.
The band have also recorded a live session for BBC Introducing, performed at Camden Rocks Festival alongside the likes of Carl Barat and The Cribs, seen their second single sold via Rough Trade Records, played at the historic Camden Barfly and caught the attention of popular music websites, Gigwise, Louder Than War, Gigslutz, Little Indie Blogs, A Music Blog Yea?and It’s All Indie.
Following two massive London shows – (This Feeling, The Barfly) that saw the band collectively sell over 120 tickets – SURGE now look to capitalise on their newfound popularity outside of their hometown by embarking on a U.K tour early next year, followed by a short run of shows across Europe in the summer.
Having been heavily likened to the jangly-guitar driven sound that dominated the Noughties, following the emphatic rise of The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes, the band have said to take pride in such comparisons, but where they don’t aim to entirely emulate their indie-predecessors, they do aspire to re-capture the very ‘bit-between-your-teeth’ essence that ran through the veins of such bands, in order to help rejuvenate the somewhat drab state of today’s ‘ruled by manufactured-pop’ music industry.
Influenced by great bands of both past and present, The Brink boys, Tom Quick (vocals), Lexi Laine (Rhythm Guitar), Gary Connor (bass guitar), and Davide DRAKE Bocci (drums) bring new life and energy to the table of today’s current Rock scene. They are producing a vibrant, new, 20th Century form of balls-to-the-wall Rock N Roll!
With a reputation of being the most hard-working unsigned band in the county, The Brink show no evidence of slowing down or losing the passion that they have for rock music. Weaving delicate harmonies, both vocal and instrumental, together with hard driven rock riffs, they have created a fresh style of their own, enticing fans from a variety of different musical interests providing professionalism and showmanship towards the genre. With a background fuelled by great influences they create fist pumping anthems and solid rock ballads belonging on the stadium stage. Producing a fresh young look, a live performance filled with excitement and vivacity, and a song writing ability befitting early Def Leppard and Bon Jovi.
Starting their rock n roll journey in Wisbech & Cambridge, the guys have worked their way up the ladder to headline in places such as London, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham and Lincoln, in some of the best venues they can get their hands on! With 2 E.Ps under their belt and much more to come, the future looks bright and the road long, and this bunch certainly have what it takes to go the distance.
A soulful vocalist and innovative multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and producer.
Rachael Sage is one of the busiest touring artists in independent music performing 100+ dates a year both solo and with her band The Sequins throughout the US, UK, & Europe. She has earned a loyal following for her dynamic piano playing, delicate guitar work, soulful vocals, and improvisational audience interaction.
Sage has shared stages with Sarah McLachlan, A Great Big World, Judy Collins, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn, Jamie Cullum, The Animals and Ani DiFranco. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and received numerous songwriting awards including The John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Grand Prize) and several Independent Music Awards. Her music has appeared on MTV, HBO, the Fame soundtrack, and 20 of her songs have appeared on Lifetime’s hit reality series, Dance Moms.
Sage herself is a former dancer who studied at the School of American Ballet in her teens, and she has been thrilled to see her music widely embraced by the lyrical dance community over the past several years (videos featuring young girls dancing to her music have received over 9 million hits on YouTube). Her latest album, CHOREOGRAPHIC, delivers a musically ambitious and emotionally accessible tribute to dance, her very first love.
She “envisioned each song as a fully-choreographed multi-media experience”; the result is an inspired set of piano-based chamber-pop merging orchestral elements with her signature blend of folk, pop and rock. The album was released on NYC’s MPress Records in May 2016, and was co-produced by Sage and Grammy® winning producer Andy Zulla (Idina Menzel, Rod Stewart).
Pacific are a Piano-led Alternative/Indie band from Cheshire.
The band consists of brothers/songwriters Anthony Orzel – Vocals/Piano and Daniel Orzel – Bass/Backing Vocals, Dave Bithell – Lead Guitars/Backing Vocals and Drew Burns – Drums/Percussion.
The release of the band’s EP, What Are You Waiting For, follows the success of its lead single ‘Time to Forget’, which reaped Pacific’s first BBC Radio 1 play on the Huw Stephens show, along with airplay on a further eighty UK radio stations.
Pacific have previously received strong backing from BBC 6’s Mark Radcliffe, who praises the band’s music as “outstanding”, along with constant support from BBC Introducing, who often invite the band for live interviews and to film live sessions. Additionally, Q Magazine have featured previous singles, with NME also sharing the band’s past music videos. Having shared stages with Maximo Park, Echo and the Bunnymen, Starsailor and more, the young band are ambitious and excited to share their fresh, energetic sound with anthemic melodies on much bigger stages in the years to come.
What kicks off like a classy folk concert quickly mutates into a euphoric showdown of fuming Soundparticles and exorbitant Soundclouds that resonate through the concert hall.
The Uptown Monotones are known for constantly delivering musical surprises. Their Repertoire boasts a fresh mix of off-beat driven Popsongs, unique cover versions and an avalanche of electronic and ethno inspired improvisation performances.
